📝 Overview
The Messaging Service lets you send appointment correspondence and marketing blasts to your clients directly from the software. Before you can send messages, you need to sign up for the Messaging Service and choose which notifications your clients and employees receive.
⛔️ Stop-gap: This feature requires verification through our partner, Twilio. Until verification is complete and clients opt in to receive text messages, you can only send emails, not text messages.

🛠️ Setup
Setup has two parts. First, sign up for the Messaging Service. Then, choose which appointment notifications the software sends.
📲 Sign Up for the Messaging Service
You need to activate the Messaging Service before you can send messages directly from the software. Signing up connects your business to an Online Account and sets where client responses are sent.
Click the arrow to view the process of signing up for the Messaging Service
Click the arrow to view the process of signing up for the Messaging Service
Click the Messaging & Marketing or E-mail & Marketing drop-down menu, then click Messaging System Setup.
Click Sign Up for Messaging in the window that appears. A web browser opens to confirm that you want to continue setting up the Messaging Service.
Click Continue to Messaging Setup. You are prompted to sign in with your Online Account.
Sign in to your Online Account:
If you already have an account, enter the email address and password associated with it, then click Log In.
If you do not have an account, click Create an Account to set up an Online Account for your business.
Confirm your payment preference. If you have a card on file with us, it is selected automatically. You can change it if you want to use a different card for payment.
Enter all of your business information. Three of the entries are marked with question marks.
✍️Note: Since your correspondence is sent from our servers, you need to assign an E-mail Display Name and Reply-To destinations to receive any client responses.
Click Create Account.
When you receive a confirmation message that the account was created successfully, close your browser.
📨 Set Up Appointment Notifications
When you return to the software after signing up, you are prompted to select the message types your clients and employees receive. Follow these steps to choose which notifications the software sends.
Click the arrow to view the process of setting up appointment notifications
Click the arrow to view the process of setting up appointment notifications
Click the Messaging & Marketing drop-down menu, then click Set Up Appointment Notifications. The Edit Appointment Notification Settings window opens.
Click each tab at the top of the window and check the boxes for the notifications you want to send.
✍️Note: Some notifications for clients and employees are turned on by default. You can change any of them for both email and text messages.
💡 Pro tip: The software comes with built-in default templates for all notifications, each configured for its specific notification type. If you customized templates in a previous version, those templates were preserved and carried into the new version. You can also create your own templates or edit any of the existing professional templates for each notification type.
📬 Client Responses
Where a client response goes depends on whether the client replies to an email or a text message.
📧 Email Responses
Email responses do not come to the software. If a client responds to an email, the response goes to the email address you set as your Primary E-mail.
💬 Text Message Responses
If you have text confirmations turned on and a client replies with C, the Confirmation Type in that client's appointment switches to Text Message.
If a client replies with anything other than C, they receive a message saying that it is not a valid response and that they should either contact the business or reply C to confirm the appointment.
